Julieanne Kost’s love of photography began at an early age while exploring the outdoors on family outings. Growing up in a household that was both creative and technical, she learned design, color, and composition from her mother who was an accomplished artist and illustrator, and the technical tools of photography from her father who was a civil engineer and an avid amateur photographer who processed and printed his own work in a home darkroom.
As an inquisitive teenager, Julieanne challenged herself to make imagery that was unconventional. Her digital illustrations explore imaginary worlds derived from her dreams, her study of psychology and abnormal behavior, and interpretations of the written word. Julieanne’s more traditional landscape work is the result of her travels where she has the opportunity to connect, document, and share her vison of the natural world.
Julieanne started her career at Adobe in technical support in 1992 and is currently the Principal Digital Imaging Evangelist, responsible for fostering relationships with customers through meaningful and inspirational Photoshop and Lightroom instruction. Named one of Fast Company’s “100 Most Creative People in Business”,
Julieanne is a highly sought-after speaker in the photography industry and is well known for her unique approach to instruction, infusing practical tips and tricks with an equal amount of humor and creativity that keeps audiences entertained and engaged.
