BENDING LIGHT: The Moods of Color
In the past few years, I have revisited many of the photographs I have made in my career, and the stories behind them. It is important to revisit these stories and to understand their purpose in the creative process as a means of introspection as well as expression. Photography has always been a way for me to create what I feel, and feel as I create.
Color and light are my subjects as much as the subject itself, and hey resonate with my emotions, creating a landscape of my mind, eyes, and mood. It’s the confluence of color and light — the movement within the color — that’s important to me. Although the end image is a still photograph, the story of its creation, the how and why it came to be, is part of every photographer’s psyche.
