Man Made Lands
Welcome to the narrated exhibition tour of “Man Made Lands” by photographer Hans Strand. Over six years, Strand has captured Spanish farmlands from above, revealing both stunning patterns and the harsh reality of land exploitation. From the north to the south, these landscapes graphically depict the impact of agricultural expansion driven by global population growth.
Even desert areas are now used for dryland farming, but with worsening droughts due to climate change, formerly fertile lands are turning into barren badlands. Viewed from above, they resemble apocalyptic scenes, serving as a haunting metaphor for our planet’s decline and nature’s response to human actions.
