He is widely recognized as an accomplished media expert with decades of experience across all aspects of the photographic industry. Sullivan is an innovative and successful entrepreneur with a demonstrated history of building and managing teams as well as networks of photographers and filmmakers.
He is passionate about and dedicated to his career, supporting photographers and promoting photography and visual storytelling.
As an agent, he has represented some of the worlds most talented and successful photographers and offered support and advice to guide them in their careers, helping to fund projects that resulted in award winning books and articles.
As an editor he assigned photographers across many genres from Photojournalism to Fashion and many of the photographers have remained lifelong friends.
He began his career as a photographer for a local newspaper in the UK, before freelancing on Fleet Street, covering events and conflicts around the globe from Afghanistan to Northern Ireland. 
After many years traveling as a foreign correspondent and devoting his life to photojournalism, Sullivan joined The Sunday Times of London as Deputy Picture Editor. He soon became the Picture Editor where he worked for 15 years.

Work History, Books, Films and Exhibitions

Getty Images Grant for Editorial Photography – When Sullivan joined Getty Images in 2004, he took over responsibility for and reengineered the Getty Grant, which to date has awarded in excess of $1 million in grants for editorial projects to members of the international photographic community.

Sullivan was responsible for selecting the jury, creating the judging process and announcing and presenting the award-winning work at Visa Pour L’image in Perpignan.

Director and Founder of The Ian Parry Scholarship, 1989 – Sullivan created the Scholarship following the death of Ian Parry, a photographer and close friend who died during the Romanian Revolution whilst on assignment for The Sunday Times. The scholarship is a registered charity and offers a bursary for aspiring young photojournalists. The Scholarship has helped many of the finest young photographers currently working in the profession. It is widely recognized as one of the most important awards
