Catherine Holmes

Catherine Holmes was born and raised in Australia. Spending much of her time by and in the ocean in her early life, learning to dive on the Great Barrier Reef, she has witnessed firsthand the changes to the underwater environment, which paved the path for her mission to help people understanding the fragility of our oceans. Regularly diving over many years she has watched the demise coral reefs due to climate change and pollution, reduced fish numbers and habitat loss.

Catherine spends much of her free time underwater photographing rich biodiverse protected areas where real efforts are being made to improve coral reefs, and navigates between the UK and her base in Australia to follow her passion for wildlife conservation.

She aims through her photography to shine a light on individual creatures that support the complexity of our planet’s survival.
