“Kazmer” is the name of small neighborhoods in my country Bulgaria. There live people who do not respect the human values and consider crime normal. These people are former prisoners convicted of various crimes, prostitutes, thieves, rapists and abusers. They are isolated in these neighborhoodsas a minority. These small territories have made me think how the dark side of our world is all around us. If you want to see it, you just have to look around. The dark side is in us as well.Everyone has it and struggles with it. I wish to capture the Kazmer atmosphere – the dark territories in our consciousness. I will surrender to my vivid curiosity about such nature and I will recreate it in a documentary personal fiction. How do you choose the path to the dark side? Is it something inside you or you can change by external factors and circumstances?
As a human, I often think about the dark. It attracts me with its self-destructive power. I struggle withit, but it often prevails. Depression and despair are its powerful tools of punishment.
In the project, I will follow the steps of darkness with the means of my acting profession. I have lived for many years in the film atmosphere and I want to use that atmosphere in the narrative and the creation of these images. Using film,I willrecreate the darkness as it exists in my head. Mystical, mysterious, scary, but always beautiful.
