Whispers of the Sky: Sharjah from Above
Mostafa Ajjawi
In this exhibition, Mostafa Ajjawi offers a fresh and unique aerial vision of the Emirate of Sharjah, capturing its architectural splendour, dynamic landscapes, and ever‑shifting atmosphere from elevated vantage points. Over the past eight years, he has meticulously curated a collection of extraordinary moments, choosing to photograph the city at its most enchanting times—sunrise, sunset, and within the mystical embrace of fog.
Every image reflects his commitment not merely to document Sharjah’s skyline, but to reveal the emirate in its most breathtaking and dramatic light, highlighting the interplay of nature, light, and urban life from above. His imagery consistently emphasises contrast, texture, and the emotional resonance of golden-hour light, cloud formations, and subtle moods.
This long-term effort goes beyond routine cityscapes. It is a cinematic exploration of Sharjah’s essence through atmospheric lighting, composition, and frequent visits. The result: a body of work that elevates the ordinary into the extraordinary, offering a vision of Sharjah rarely seen by most viewers.
