Traces of Memory, The Son of Sharjah
The Big Heart Foundation
This exhibition highlights photography as a contemporary artistic language that brings together humanity, place, and memory, offering a cohesive visual narrative that reflects human presence and the authenticity of place as it is.
The exhibition features By the Lens of The Son of Sharjah, a coffee-table book developed through an institutional collaboration between the Executive Office of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi and The Big Heart Foundation. The book presents a collection of exclusive photographs captured by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Humanitarian Envoy of The Big Heart Foundation, reflecting his personal passion for photography. Taken during visits and field missions accompanying the Foundation’s work across different locations, the images extend beyond conventional humanitarian framing, highlighting everyday life, the character of place and nature, and human faces as seen through the photographer’s lens.
The exhibition also presents Carrying Home, a second coffee-table book offering a visual reading of The Big Heart Foundation’s work in areas of displacement. Through a diverse selection of images, the book brings forward human stories that reflect daily life, resilience, and lasting humanitarian impact.
