Each photograph is a quiet prayer, born of light, captured in time, and rooted in place. Through it, I seek to honor the silence of nature and the unseen presence within it.
Mohammad Anabtawi is a Dubai-based Jordanian photographer whose work reflects a poetic dialogue between nature, culture, and human presence. With a background in technology, he fuses structure and sensitivity, creating balanced images that resonate with emotion and depth.
Known for his evocative landscapes and cultural narratives, Anabtawi has established himself as a visual storyteller. His photography is as much about silence and reflection as it is about beauty, offering audiences a chance to engage with the hidden stories of remote places and timeless traditions.
Anabtawi’s career began with roots in computing and technology, which continue to influence his thoughtful and precise approach to composition. His imagery moves fluidly between stark black-and-white studies and vibrant, colour-rich landscapes, each revealing an exploration of place and presence. His work often focuses on remote regions where human traces intersect with natural environments, resulting in a visual narrative that feels both timeless and immediate.
Through his photography venture, he also shares his craft with others, leading workshops and training sessions designed to help participants cultivate their own vision. These experiences are anchored not only in technique but also in a philosophy that photography is about discovering the unseen connections that unite culture and nature. His travels and teaching underline a commitment to building communities of visual storytellers who are equally attentive to detail and emotion.
Over the past decade, Anabtawi has presented several exhibitions that highlight the breadth of his artistic expression. These include The Nabatean Colors (2012, Royal Culture Center, Amman), Light from the Past (2013, Ras Al-Ein Gallery, Amman), The Silent Nature (2014, Ras Al-Ein Gallery, Amman), and Tale of Light (2017, Jordanian National Gallery of Fine Arts). His work consistently bridges natural grandeur with cultural intimacy, revealing the subtle traces of human presence within the landscape.
International recognition has followed, with prestigious honours such as the XPOSURE Nature and Scenic Beauty Award (2023), the International Photography Awards (IPA) in the Nature/Astro category (2022), and the Youth Excellence Award from Jordan’s Ministry of Culture (2011). These accolades affirm both the technical strength and emotional resonance of his images. For Anabtawi, however, awards are secondary to his mission of creating work that invites reflection and inspires viewers to see beauty in overlooked places. His photographs, deeply meditative in tone, serve as windows into stillness, offering an intimate exploration of landscapes and the quiet stories within them.
