For the last ten years he has been working on the Greek-Turkish border in the Evros region.
In his last project that was competed recently, titled “Evros: Life on the Shores’, Antonis Pasvantis observes how Greek-Turkish borders affect the lives of vulnerable people in combination with migratory flows and the coexistence of different religious populations. Pasvantis presents a body of photographs that not only maps the extreme beauty of the landscapes, but also captures the entire human geography of the wider Evros region. His story documents the harmonious coexistence between Christians, Suni minority in Greece and the last remaining Alevi Muslim community in Greece. At the same time, he captures border crossings and police chasing that reflect the painful reality of immigrants seeking a better tomorrow in the region.
