DANIELLE ARDEN

Her debut short film, Bristles (2015), a light-hearted exploration of a newlywed couple’s insecurities, sparked a deeper fascination with the complexities of the moving image. Over the following years, she refined her cinematic voice through documentary and commercial work, collaborating with clients such as BMW, du, Dove, and Coca-Cola. Her projects often ask uncomfortable questions in ways that are approachable and entertaining.

Danielle’s award-winning short films have gained recognition across various competitions. The Rhythm (2018), shot by Walid Baaklini, earned first place at the UAE National Happiness Film Competition, She went on to make award-winning lockdown short ‘A Niggling Question’ (2020) shot by Jad Saabi , and ‘Karama:267’ (2021) co-directed with Ekta Saran, shot by Tom Weir. In 2024 she wrote, directed and produced ‘The Trouble Out There’, shot by Jad Saabi, uniting a truly international team across Germany, UAE, Georgia and Portugal. She is currently developing her debut feature.
