Dileep Anthikad is a distinguished conservation photographer and passionate advocate for wildlife preservation. Recognized with the prestigious Birdguides/BBC award in 2010, Dileep has since made Masai Mara, Kenya his home, immersing himself in one of the world’s most iconic wildlife habitats. His work captures the breathtaking beauty and delicate balance of nature, bringing attention to the pressing need for conservation efforts across the globe.

Dileep has authored two significant biodiversity books: Environment and Wildlife of Halul Island (2011) and Irkaya – Celebrating the Biodiversity of Qatar (2014), both commissioned by the Ministry of Environment. These publications reflect his commitment to documenting and preserving the unique ecosystems of Qatar and beyond. In 2013, he co-founded Koodu (Nest), a nature magazine published in India, where he serves as the Photo-desk Editor, showcasing stunning wildlife photography and insightful articles on nature conservation.

Beyond photography, Dileep is deeply involved in wildlife conservation and community support. As the co-founder of Rhino Lovers NGO and Osero Sopia River Camp, he is dedicated to protecting endangered species and empowering tribal communities living near wildlife reserves. His work emphasizes the importance of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, ensuring sustainable development while safeguarding biodiversity.

Dileep’s passion for wildlife conservation led him to leave a successful corporate career at Qatar Petroleum in 2013. He transitioned to a pivotal role as Principal Advisor to the Qatari Minister of Environment, where he played an instrumental part in establishing the Al Reem UNESCO Man and Biosphere Reserve. Under his guidance, several protected areas were created for migratory birds and endangered Hawksbill Turtles in the Arabian Sea, marking significant strides in environmental conservation efforts in the region.
