Collection of the Photographic Gallery). In 2024, he presented WITH ALL THE ILLUSIONS OF MY REAL LIFE. He is also the author of the cloudgraphs entitled ABOUT US ONLY SKY.
The Prank
Guillermo Franco has a great ability, almost childish, to surprise and be surprised. Due to the funny or ironic content of the anecdote, he quickly shots smiling circumstances for the crazy meeting that come up spontaneously on a daily basis. His work reveals itself as naively provoking. He releases the restless small boy who keeps inside of him, and he links this way of working with close watching and a playing idea. The game of showing a fleeting idea, that idea those distracted cannot see, that idea people busy with “the important daily things” do not perceive.
His exploration also has another point of contact with the great masters of the genre: the conviction that by only being extremely constant and with many hours of field work, a good shot can be taken. This perseverance does not cast a shadow; on the contrary, it is the joy of every finding, every attempt, every shot. With an always curious and careful look, the wander took him to crystallize pictures, parts of the human being condition, odds and ends of existence, cuts full of joy, of subtlety and love.
