Imadeddin Alaeddin
Imad AlaEddin is an international award-winning photographer and photojournalist with over 35 years of experience in the field. Born into an artistic family in Aleppo, Syria, Imad has always been searching for art in everything. His journey was not limited to the ground like many photography artists and professionals; he also jumped from planes with parachutes and dived deep into the seas and oceans. Imad’s adventurous spirit added great value to his knowledge and artistic background.
Imad’s aim of finding art in everything led him to extract the art in significant spiritual places like mosques, specifically the domes. Here, the Islamic art of patterns, geometric shapes, nature drawings, and Arabic calligraphy reflect visuals developed over centuries and gathered from different ethnicities of Muslim nations, from Andalusia (Spain and Portugal today) to Indonesia.
In his project “UAE Mosques, Art and Spirituality Harmony” Imad pointed his gaze upwards and maintained the architectural science aspects and the reflection of the spiritual artworks in the mosques. This project presents the spirituality, knowledge, creativity, and efforts of artists, sculptors, and calligraphists in one story told through his lens.
Imad’s life has always revolved around art, as he spent significant time with his parents and siblings playing music, painting, drawing, and sculpting. In addition to his passion for theater and acting in dramas, his passion for photography was always stronger, leading him to choose it as his career as a photojournalist. He has held many photography exhibitions and achieved numerous awards in photographic contests.
– HIPA – First place in the National Day Photography Competition at the Global Village in cooperation with the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award 2022.
– Dubai Media Incorporated Celebrity Award for Excellence in the Publishing Sector in 2016.
– Sharjah Arabian Horse Club Photography Award 2016.
– The Best Press Photo Award at the Dubai International Basketball Championship 2016.
– Sharjah Arab Image Award two years in a row: 2014 and 2015.
– Sharjah Tourism Excellence Award for the best photo of the Emirate of Sharjah for the year 2014.
– The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development Photography Award for the year 2013.

– Photography Award for the Dubai International Parachuting Championships for the year 2010 and for the year 2014.
