Mimo Khair is a Lebanese-American photographer based in Duesseldorf, Germany. With over three decades of practice, her work spans fine art and documentary photography, with a focus on the human condition and the relationship between people and place. Her practice is grounded in observation and an interest in resilience, continuity, and the details of everyday life within complex social environments.
Her passion for photography has taken her to diverse regions around the world, from the Middle East and Africa to Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Her work has been presented in international exhibitions and published in photography books and specialized publications. Her visual language is defined by a preference for quiet moments over spectacle, and by her close engagement with refugee communities and vulnerable groups, guided by an ethical approach that respects human dignity and place.
Reflecting this passion, Khair collaborated with The Big Heart Foundation to produce the book What Remains of Memory, alongside the photographic works presented in this exhibition. All proceeds from the exhibition will support the Foundations humanitarian projects.
