Remya Warrier, celebrated as the 2023 Africa Geographic Photographer of the Year, embarked on her conservation journey at Mashatu Game Reserve in Botswana in 2018.
Driven by a childhood fascination with wildlife, Remya has explored numerous biodiversity hotspots around the globe. In 2021, she moved from her settled life in Singapore to the wild landscapes of Masai Mara, Kenya, dedicating herself fully to wildlife associated conservation initiatives.
As a co-founder of Rhino Lovers NGO and Osero Sopia River Camp, Remya is at the forefront of initiatives aimed at protecting wildlife and supporting local communities. Her work not only showcases the beauty and intricacies of the natural world but also highlights the pressing conservation issues facing the African wilderness. Together with other esteemed photographers, Remya brings invaluable firsthand experience and insight into the challenges and triumphs of wildlife conservation in Africa.
