Richard Le Manz

Richard Le Manz is a Spanish photographer and visual artist known for his conceptual, poetic, and symbolic approach to visual communication. His work is characterised by the use of everyday elements to create images with multiple layers of meaning, often imbued with irony and social critique.

Richard is a contemporary visual storyteller who uses art and photography as a poetic and symbolic language to convey deep, universal messages, summarizing any subject into a beautiful and impactful visual metaphor.

Trained in Industrial Engineering and with a deep passion for travel and nature, Richard began his artistic journey in landscape photography, exploring and capturing the beauty of the planet´s most extraordinary habitats. However, he soon realised that landscape photography was not a sufficiently powerful tool to raise awareness and transform values regarding our relationship with the natural environment. This is how his fascination with conceptual photography was born, a medium, that, through symbolism, allowed him to more incisively address environmental challenges.

Richard experiments with various photography techniques ande different installations and interventions, always seeking the best way to convey his ideas and concepts.

Supported by his background and knowledge of the automotive world, the artist developed his first project, focused on the impact of fossil fuel-based mobility on the planet. Following the unexpected success of this first project, “In Our Hands” emerge, a reflection on our intrinsic connection with nature, followed by the project “Decisive Moment”, a constantly evolving project that transcends the traditional view of the environmental crisis. It recognises that, beyond being an environmental crisis, its essence lies in a deeply human challenge, inviting us to reflect on our collective responsibility and the need for transformative change.
