Over the past few years, Vanessa’s images have been featured in international wildlife photography competitions as well as in a number of exhibitions and publications. She’s a well known underwater photographer in the Australian community and her areas of interest are broad. Aside from her fashion and photography images, she is known for her wildlife and shipwreck images and her passion for scuba diving both in recreational and technical depths.

In 2011, Vanessa acquired her first underwater camera setup, marking the beginning of a prolific career that seamlessly blends her Fine Arts background with her love for the ocean. Her work is characterized by the use of flowing fabrics, dramatic lighting, and a keen eye for detail, creating ethereal scenes that challenge traditional perceptions of underwater photography

Vanessa’s artistry has garnered international recognition. In 2023, she was a finalist in the Human Connection Award at the Ocean Photographer of the Year competition for her evocative image captured at Sydney’s Clovelly Pool. Her piece “Black & White Muse” earned an Honorable Mention in the Underwater Fashion category of the Ocean Art 2023 competition. One of her images was featured as a finalist in the Wildife category of Australian Geographic “Nature Photographer of the Year’, an image that has been showcased across Australia’s billboards and airports, bringing her unique vision to a global audience.

Vanessa has shared her expertise as a speaker on underwater photography at industry events. Through her business, Aquatic Imaging Australia she has curated and hosted a successful underwater photography competition supporting and celebrating emerging talent in the field.
Additionally, this year she secured two wins in the Wreck and Human and Diver category in the underwater photography competition at OZTek’s Advanced Diving Conference
