Reem Al-Faisal

Reem Al-Faisal, a renowned documentary photographer based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, captures captivating moments worldwide with her artistic vision. Her passion for photography began in childhood and blossomed into a remarkable career. Breaking stereotypes, she documented Hajj rituals, showcased the American Muslim experience, and portrayed life in Palestine, China, Japan, Korea, and Iran. Al-Faisal’s unique perspective has earned her numerous accolades, including the National Order of the Legion of Honor. She also ventured into NFT art and established Dar Al-Saaed, a digital solutions company. Her work has graced prestigious exhibitions globally.

Reem Al-Faisal received her secondary education at Al-Manarat School in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Literature from King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah and studied photography at Speos School in Paris, France.

Al-Faisal’s distinctive artistic character is evident through her work. Her photography expresses the spiritual and divine presence in landscapes and people’s lives.

Her professional career distinguishes her from others. In addition to her success in breaking the stereotyped image of Saudi women, Reem Al-Faisal achieved several notable firsts. She was the first female photographer to document the pilgrimage ritual “Hajj” and the first Saudi female photographer to focus on reflecting the experience of the American Muslim community. Additionally, she was the first Saudi female photographer to exhibit her work in the occupied state of Palestine and the Republic of China. She also became the first Arab female photographer to cover the nature of life in China, Japan, and Korea for two decades and document daily life experiences in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Al-Faisal received the National Order of the Legion of Honor (Legion d’honneur) from the French Republic and recently became the first female documentary photographer in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to enter the world of NFT (non-fungible token) art. Her NFT works have been showcased in several digital exhibitions.

In addition to her outstanding achievements in her unique career, she established the Dar Al-Saaed Company for digital solutions, providing the best technological solutions for various business models with a staff specializing in modern technologies. This demonstrates her passion and ambition to serve her country and the world.
